988 Support, Rooted in Our Community

In Community and Services

When someone is in emotional distress, unsure what to do next, or simply needs someone to talk to, timely support can make all the difference. That’s why 988 matters. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a direct connection to trained professionals who can provide support in real time — and here in southwest Ohio, Community Health Alliance is proud to be part of that local safety net.

As Shane Joseph, Crisis Hotline Director illustrates in this YouTube video, Community Health Alliance serves as the local 988 provider for five counties: Butler, Warren, Clinton, Preble, and Montgomery. This means calls from our area are answered by people who understand our communities, our resources, and the realities people face here. It’s not just about responding in a crisis — it’s about ensuring people have access to compassionate, immediate support, close to home, any time of day or night.

Offering 988 services is one more way Community Health Alliance supports the whole person. From primary care and behavioral health to recovery services and community outreach, we believe every individual deserves a place to turn, no matter what they’re experiencing. 988 helps round out that commitment by ensuring that when someone needs help right now, they can reach a trusted voice — 24/7 — and be met with respect, care, and support.

If you or someone you know needs someone to talk to, you can call or text 988 at any time.
