Honoring Our Social Workers

In News

March is Social Work Awareness Month, and at Community Health Alliance we’re proud to recognize the several dozen social workers serving across our organization, including Sojourner Recovery Services and the Transitional Living (TLC).

In our clinics, recovery programs, transitional housing, and community outreach, our social workers provide services like counseling, crisis support, case management, and so much more. They meet individuals and families during some of the hardest times in their lives and help turn plans into clear, steady next steps. As Rebecca Dickerscheid, Executive Director of Sojourner Recovery Services, shares, “Social work is about showing up — consistently, compassionately, and without judgment. It’s about helping people see their own strength, even when they’ve forgotten it’s there.”

This work takes dedication, patience, and heart. It asks a great deal from those who choose this path. Amy Crouch, Executive Director of Transitional Living (TLC), puts it this way, “Community mental health work is not easy. It demands emotional intelligence, patience, flexibility, and empathy. Our social workers embody all of these qualities. The agency and the community we serve are stronger because of their dedication.”

We are deeply grateful for the care, professionalism, and strength our social workers bring to Community Health Alliance every day. Their impact reaches far beyond a single conversation. It strengthens individuals, families, and our entire community.
