Spreading Joy This Easter

In News, Community

Christine Birhanzl, Director of Recovery Services, helped lead deliveries to the Recovery House, MAMA’s House, and children in the community who would have otherwise gone without.

This Easter season, the Paragon Optimist Club continued its tradition of giving, partnering with Sojourner Recovery Services for the 11th year to deliver Easter baskets to children who might not otherwise receive one, as well as individuals with kids in residential programs.

Each basket was assembled through donations from Paragon members, reflecting the club’s commitment to supporting local youth. For the children who receive them, these baskets represent more than a holiday gesture—they offer a sense of care, connection, and hope.

Founded 22 years ago, the Paragon Optimist Club is a Fairfield-based women’s service organization with 27 members dedicated to improving lives in the community, with a strong focus on youth. Their work is funded through member contributions and club-led fundraisers, allowing them to continue initiatives like this year after year.

The impact continues beyond the baskets. This Sunday, April 5, an Easter egg hunt will be held at the Recovery House, where children will search for 248 hidden eggs—another opportunity to create joy and lasting memories.

The club meets every Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. at the Fairfield Optimist Clubhouse, 194 Joe Nuxhall Way in Fairfield, and welcomes visitors interested in learning more or getting involved. You can also find them on Facebook or by searching Paragon Optimist Club online.
