The Festival of Wreaths is a community-wide celebration blending creativity, holiday spirit, and charitable giving. What began years ago as a simple wreath-decorating contest now features an online silent auction and a vibrant public display on the front of the Butler County United Way building in Hamilton’s historic German Village.
Butler County United Way has brought the holidays to life with this event representing real impact for the organizations that serve Butler County year-round. Each wreath receives half of its highest bid to support a chosen United Way Community Partner, while the other half fuels the United Way Community Impact Fund, helping drive programs focused on youth opportunity, healthy community, financial security, and community resilience.
Sojourner Recovery Services’ own entry—Recovery Rings True—was created by Vanessa Jackson, Childcare Specialist, and Tanya Young, Office Manager. The wreath stands as a symbol of what we strive for every day. Built ring by ring, it mirrors the way our teams work: unique in role, united in mission. Each piece represents a different department within our organization, a reminder that recovery isn’t a path anyone walks alone. Like the work we do, this wreath is a circle of support, compassion, and hope—proof that when people bring their strengths together, brighter futures become possible.
Bidding is open now through December 7, when the winners for each wreath will be announced at 3:00 PM during Hamilton’s Christmas in the Village celebration. Wreaths can be picked up immediately following the announcements, making them a perfect way to carry the spirit of community into the holiday season.
